Twitter is a 140 character news service and some say it will replace e-mail. That might be why the HR manager of Twitter send one e-mail out rejecting 186 candidates for the job of Business Product Manager with the e-mail adress shown for all. I can only say: oops. Valleywag states: how can you use such an outdated service like e-mail?
Now here’s the e-mail:
Subject: Business Product Manager Position at Twitter, Inc.

What can we learn from this?
Well first of all this can’t happen if you take the time to reject everyone personally. I know, it’s a lot of work. But it makes sure this doesn’t happen and it build a much better reject relationship. And you might just need this person in the future.
Second: if you do send out mass mail, use an ATS or a posting system like Broadbean to send the mail. These systems will send an individual mail to all, with one push of the button.
And if you don’t have a system, but do want to mass mail, please teach your HR manager the difference between CC and BCC fields…
